[Lunch] After that, I stopped by Okamedo Honke, intrigued by a product I saw in a local magazine. The spacious interior had only a few customers, and there was just one male staff member, perhaps due to timing. - Frozen Coffee JPY 300 *Payments for soft serve, ice cream, and juice are cash only. There seemed to be many ingredients included, and I had a slight wait for my order. After taking a photo as proof, I enjoyed it in my car. According to the handwritten shop description, the cutout from J-Ran on the table was more informative, so here’s my paraphrase: "A bean specialist shop with over 160 years of history. The sweet red beans are said to be inspired by the burnt zenzai of the founder, creating a traditional flavor. The creamy soft serve pairs perfectly with the locally produced sweet red beans from Honbetsu and coffee." Indeed, the bitterness of the coffee and the sweetness of the soft serve are a classic match. The frozen sweet red beans are perfect for a hot day. The bottom part has crushed ice made of coffee (with milk?). Hmm. Although I was drawn in by the sweet red beans as a topping and the reasonable price, the crushed coffee ice at the very bottom felt a bit cheap. (I’m dating myself here, but it reminds me of making shabik with square ice from an aluminum tray I used as a kid—only those from my generation would get this reference!) I wonder if the sweet red beans tend to avoid any excess? For instance, how about having the option to top this soft serve with more sweet red beans, maybe two or three times until you say
