Homemade Obanzai Dishes Made with Love
Welcome! ---------- November 2021 ---------- Located on the 8th floor of the 11th Green Building along Minami 5 Nishi 3 and Minami 5 Jōdō. First of all, this building houses a nostalgic Showa-era space that feels out of place. You need to take off your shoes—there's a counter with a sunken kotatsu that lets your feet dangle (while Tom sits cross-legged). The two caring ladies running the place create a relaxing and humble atmosphere. They offer a variety of creative dishes mainly focused on obanzai (traditional Japanese home-style cooking). The beer was "Perfect Classic," and I had to try the sake, "Mitsui no Bida," which has a robust taste. For starters, I sampled 3 items from the large platter on the counter: Potato Macaroni Salad (a colorful mix of potatoes, macaroni, and salad vegetables), Grilled Tuna Skewers, and Steamed Vegetables. The hot dish featured Japanese radish with a minced meat sauce. It provided a warm, gentle flavor reminiscent of home cooking, sure to please the older crowd. I ordered the "Three Types of Goat Cheese Camembert" from a goat cheese shop in Aurora Town. It had a richer flavor and depth compared to cow's cheese, making it quite a rare find. I definitely felt like having soft serve ice cream after that! With a calming atmosphere that feels like time has stopped and the smiling faces of the ladies, the place has a high ratio of female customers.

Irancalapte. ---------- November 2023 ---------- It had been two years, but the owner was in great spirits! Let's start with a "Lemon Sour" (Cheers!). We began with "Tofu Shinjo Stew." "Potato Salad and Egg Viver Bread" A delightful mix of ingredients paired with famous bread from Otaru. While a baked French bread would pair well too, I'm sure this has a unique taste of its own. The sweetness of the slightly crushed Kita Akari potatoes is wonderful. "Tarako Konnyaku" There's no way cod roe and konnyaku wouldn’t pair perfectly! "Nasu Ni-batashi" (Eggplant submerged in broth) The well-prepared eggplants and their companions create an elegant flavor. "Saba Miso-ni" (Mackerel simmered in miso) The rich, thick miso enveloping the fatty fish is simply irresistible. This is exquisite! In my opinion, this kind of restaurant really excels at simmered and braised dishes. Hinna Hinna.
