Delicious Yakitori and an Impressive Selection of Japanese Sake.
Today, I visited this place. It's a yakitori restaurant located in Takasaki City. I came here with a friend from my hometown who lives in Takasaki. We reserved a table for 8 PM and ordered several rare cuts in advance. The restaurant is run by a handsome chef and two female staff members. The chef has the impression of a slimmer Hiromu Murofushi—truly a ‘mini Murofushi.’ Maybe the restaurant should be named "Yakitori Komurofushi" instead. Both the counter and table seats were fully occupied, creating a lively atmosphere. We started with some beer and then asked for chilled Japanese sake. Here’s what we had: ● Chicken Offal Stew ● Shinshu Chicken Breast (Yuhiki style) with spicy Japanese radish and freshly grated wasabi. Now, onto the skewers. ● Sabi-yaki Cooked to medium-rare perfection. ● Kashiwa (Chicken Thigh) Juicy thigh meat wrapped in crispy skin. ● Gunma, Tsukiyono Shiitake Mushrooms ● Gunma, Takasaki Quail The yolk was beautifully creamy. ● Yamagata, Kurakake Beans ● Chicken Skin with Ponzu ● Tsukune Tsukune finished with chicken neck meat and perilla leaf. Even though it was thoroughly cooked, the juices burst forth. ● Ginger Simmered Liver ● White Liver We additional ordered: ● Tsunagi Also known as Heart Aorta or Kokoro no Kori. ● Chicken Soup Ochazuke Served with a warm egg from the silky black chicken. Wow, it was delicious. The skewering and grilling techniques produced outstanding yakitori infused with wonderful charcoal flavor. The lineup of Japanese sake, featuring brands like Aramasa, was plentiful—over 100 varieties, I believe. The hospitality was excellent, making for an enjoyable time. It was a great meal.
