Founded on October 5, 1948, in Nakasu, Hakata, Fukuya started as a small grocery store. The owner, Toshio Kawahara, was inspired by the taste of "cod roe kimchi" from his childhood during the war. Aft
...er much innovation, he introduced Japan's first "flavored mentaiko" on January 10, 1949. Today, Fukuya is a representative specialty of Fukuoka and Hakata, offering not only mentaiko but also related products and snacks at our Fukuoka Airport store.
