This teppanyaki restaurant opened on the first floor of the Yamanashi Grand Hotel, which is now part of the Chateraise Group. It's a similar type of place to Danrokkan in Kofu. The Chateraise Group is ramping up teppanyaki restaurants in Yamanashi Prefecture! I visited for a solo lunch! ◼️ Reservation, I found out I could do online booking through their website, so I made a reservation. They called to confirm, which finalized the reservation. Their website mentioned that you can walk in if there are available seats, too. ◼️ The restaurant, The main seating is at the counter, but there are a few table seats as well. It has a calm atmosphere. The spacious counter allows for a relaxed dining experience. While it may lack the stylishness of Danrokkan, it has a simple and pleasant vibe. ◼️ Staff, A polite female server attended to the dining area, while a friendly young man was the chef. They didn’t engage much in conversation, allowing me to enjoy my meal in peace. ◼️ Crowd level, On a holiday afternoon, there were two other groups in the restaurant. ◼️ Clientele, Families with a calm demeanor and adult groups. ◼️ Menu, They offer a budget-friendly lunch option at JPY 3,500. Other course prices range from JPY 4,800 to JPY 9,000, with some higher-priced options that include abalone. Dinner is slightly more expensive. ◼️ Drink menu, I didn’t check thoroughly, but there were various options, including Chateraise wine. At the end, they have a selection of drinks available from a capsule system. ◼️ Total cost, Japanese beef fillet course: JPY 9,000, Non-alcoholic beer: JPY 600 x 2, Total: JPY 10,200. I settled the bill at the adjacent restaurant. ◼️ Service time, The meal was served in about 40 minutes, which was impressively quick. ↓ Impressions ↓ ● Sashimi Delicious tuna, with a moist texture and just the right amount of fat. ● Grilled vegetables Nicely grilled vegetables with salt. There are three sauces to try: Almond sauce, Purple onion sauce, and Grated ponzu sauce. ● Fillet steak (cooked as per the chef’s recommendation) So tender! Delicious fillet steak! Served with yuzu salt and wasabi. ● Rice At the start of the meal, they ignite a small rice cooker which steams the rice perfectly. The freshly cooked rice is very tasty. Making garlic rice with garlic chips and garlic butter is both fun and delicious. The pickles and miso soup were quite good, too. ● Teppanyaki choux ice cream A fusion dessert that combines Chateraise choux pastry and ice cream, baked together for a unique treat. The combination of ice cream, fruits, and a toasty flavor is delightful. ▼ Blue Mountain A nice coffee with a pleasant bitterness. In conclusion☆ Delicious meat! While teppanyaki restaurants are multiplying, I think it's wonderful that the quality remains high. I highly recommend this place when you’re craving some tasty meat! 😊
