Located in Nishikicho, Tachikawa City, this is a branch of the East Ikebukuro Taishoken, where you can enjoy Chuka Soba, Mori Soba, and Atsumori, all taught by Master Yamagishi. It belongs to the Koganei Taishoken group. The nearest stations are Tachikawa Station on the Chuo Main Line, Ome Line, and Nambu Line, as well as Tachikawa Kita and Tachikawa Minami stations on the Tama Toshi Monorail. They open at 7:30 AM and operate continuously, making it very convenient. On a weekday around 3:30 PM at the beginning of September, when it was still quite hot, I visited this place, which is great for continuous service. It’s likely busy during lunch hours, but it was surprisingly empty during this off-peak time. There were more than two staff members at the entrance with a ticket vending machine. ◆ Today's Order ◆ Special Mori Soba - JPY 1100 Large Size Noodles (double) - JPY 180 The special comes with extra chashu, seasoned egg, shredded green onions, and increased menma. After placing my order, it took about 10 minutes for my bowl to arrive. The noodles were thick and round, with a high water content, giving them a chewy texture. The dipping sauce had a blend of seafood, a hint of meat, and vegetables, with a subtle acidity and soy sauce base, making it delicious. The chashu was also a large piece. I easily finished the entire bowl, including the soup. This is the reliable and consistent Koganei Taishoken group. I’m sure I’ll visit another one of their locations again!
