It may sound a bit pretentious to say it, but this is a place where you can relax in an elegant atmosphere. The lounge has a limited number of seats, including ones by the window, by the fireplace, and some cozy sofas in the back. There are also terrace seats available outdoors. I reserved an afternoon tea a month in advance and was looking forward to it. First, it was a little adventure to get to the 40th floor. The hotel entrance is quite inconspicuous. As soon as I walked in, I was greeted and guided to the elevator, but the dimly lit decor made it hard to distinguish the doors. It felt a bit like a little exploration. The afternoon tea consists of a drink plus a combination of dessert and sandwiches. The tableware was luxurious and absolutely beautiful. To my surprise, the drinks are served in a free-flow style. Being thrifty, I tried four different types to match my desserts. The sencha was my favorite. The cakes were the main attraction, but to be honest, they weren’t as impressive as I hoped. The scones, however, were exceptional—possibly the best I’ve ever had. With three types of toppings available, spreading butter and jam on them was divine. The sandwich with olive oil and tomatoes was also delicious. After finishing my meal, I caught a glimpse of the beautiful sunset and took a moment to enjoy the view from the terrace, where I was lucky enough to see Mt. Fuji! ✌️ The price is on the higher side, but taking into account the 90 minutes of relaxed conversation, beautiful tableware, and elegant atmosphere, it feels like a good value.
