On my last night in Shimane, I decided to hit one more spot! This lovely restaurant, Japan Kai Shoya, is just a short walk from my hotel. The atmosphere is really good, and the counter looks very clean—maybe it's still new? When in Shimane, seafood is a must! I ordered fried oysters and simmered flounder. I thought about trying some shijimi clams, but since I had so many at the hotel, I decided to pass this time. The fried oysters are definitely best served hot. Eating them fresh and piping hot is just the best! I tried the local sake, Iwami Ginzan. Come to think of it, I haven't been to Iwami Ginzan yet. I hope to visit next time! It’s just a one-minute walk from the south side of Izumo City Station. It's right across the intersection, but if you get caught at the traffic light, it might take more than a minute. However, it's definitely worth the visit! This time, I used the JR Dice Ticket, so my transportation costs were low. I’d love to see more promotions like this in the future.
