I arrived in Shiga Prefecture today at 3 PM! I came a day early to prepare for my visit to Lake Biwa tomorrow. It feels great to take a break for some free time that I deserve after working hard! I visited Omihachiman City two years ago. At that time, it was raining, and even though I stayed at a hotel with a view of Lake Biwa, all I could see was the fog, and I could only glimpse Takeshima Shrine. I wished to visit the stunning Takeshima Shrine that I could barely see back then, and finally, I'm fulfilling that wish! To get to Takeshima Shrine, I need to take a boat across Lake Biwa. Since I have a meeting at Hikone Port at 8:30 AM tomorrow, I decided it would be nice to arrive a day early and stay at a hotel. So here I am, staying at a hotel near Omihachiman Station and having dinner at a nearby restaurant. I received a 10% discount coupon from the hotel staff, so I decided to try "Robatayaki - Lion Maru." The restaurant has high ratings on Tabelog! It opened at 5 PM, and I entered at 5:30 PM. As a solo diner, I naturally took a seat at the counter. They have various alcoholic drinks, but I opted for a water-based barley shochu. You can ask for it stronger, but I went with the regular mix. The menu is extensive with a strong focus on both seafood and meat dishes. I first ordered chilled tomatoes, followed by tuna katsu, grilled asparagus, and a single size meat platter featuring pork belly, beef belly, roast beef, chicken neck, and pork intestine, plus fluffy grilled yam. I ended up drinking three mugs of the water-based barley shochu! I had so much to eat that I was full! (T_T) The flavors were good and the food delicious. The restaurant is spacious, and all the staff are quite young. Starting around 6 PM, more and more customers began to arrive. It’s quite popular! It turned out to be a lovely memory! With all that food, my total bill came to JPY 4,790, which I think is a great value! It was a great meal!
