On May 20, 2023, I finally had the chance to visit Hikari Yakigashi Ten, which I had previously enjoyed as a souvenir from my niece. Despite their many closed days listed on Tabelog, I learned that the staff has increased, making it easier to find open days. Since it was my first visit, I asked for recommendations, and was told to try the chiffon cake, freshly baked scone, and limited edition lemon cake. I decided to sample: - Plain chiffon cake: JPY 380 - Chocolate chip scone: JPY 380 - Three-piece lemon cake: JPY 710 - Mini orange cake: JPY 230. I enjoyed these treats with my family after dinner. The lemon cake was described as "properly sour," made with plenty of fresh lemons from Hiroshima. The cake was moist, and when I opened it, I was greeted by a refreshing lemon aroma. It had a true sourness balanced with a perfect sweetness, which I absolutely loved. The scone had multiple layers, giving it a delightful chewy texture, and I enjoyed that as well. It was a great meal! While the lack of parking makes it a bit inconvenient, I would definitely like to visit again.
