Today, I really wanted to drive thoroughly, so I took the coastal road from Chikushino to Karatsu. It was my first time driving along the coast since I usually take the Nishikyushu Expressway, and I finally passed through the Rainbow Pine Grove. After that, I crossed the Seburi Mountain Range to reach Saga City. For a late lunch, I went to Chiyotaro, a udon restaurant. Entrance. Inside the restaurant. Table seating. The pork cutlet in the katsudon is thick, with more lean meat than fat. Delicious. A well-balanced combination of egg, broth, onions, and rice. The egg is slightly runny. The udon is soft and a bit thicker than Hakata udon, but still very good. Delicious meat udon: Meat. Kamaboko (fish cake). Burdock tempura: it was a burdock and carrot tempura mix, a kind of kakiage tempura. Focusing on the burdock tempura. As rumored, this is a popular udon shop in Saga. Both the katsudon and udon were delicious. Even though it was a late lunch, there were always about three groups of customers coming and going. On my way back, I crossed the Seburi Mountain range two more times: 1) From Kanzaki to Nakagawa Town. 2) From Nakagawa Town to Chikushino. This mountain road (for the second route) turned into a single-lane road partway, making it challenging to pass. The car coming towards me wouldn't budge an inch, even though it would have been easier for it to back up. We had to back up about 30 meters on this narrow mountain road, enduring the loud beeping of the sensors while shifting over to one side. We ended up passing each other about ten times, and the other driver moved only once. I waited or shifted my position nine times. How bizarre is that? If someone is not confident driving, they shouldn’t take mountain roads. I got home at 7:30 PM, having left the house at 10 AM. Aside from 30 minutes of eating, I had been driving the whole day. It turned into about nine hours of driving. I’m exhausted. Tomorrow, I’ll take it easy. The end.
