After visiting Shakunage no Yu, I decided to do some shopping at Tsuruya Hodaka. On the way, I chose to have dinner at Ramen Sen. I arrived at 6:10 PM and saw two cars parked in front of the restaurant. I thought they belonged to previous customers, but that wasn't the case. It seemed that there was only enough space for about 4-5 cars in front, but when I looked around, I noticed a large parking lot across the street. Upon entering the restaurant, I was told to sit wherever I liked, so I chose a table at the back. Looking at the menu, I ordered the Chuka Soba, while my wife chose the Ebi Miso Ramen with handmade noodles. I asked if I could take photos, and was given the go-ahead. While taking pictures, I noticed there were pitchers of water and cups at each table. I assumed this meant water was self-service, so I poured some for myself. The presence of the pitcher made me think that the soup might be quite salty. About 10 minutes later, our food was served. The thick curly noodles were so firm that they were a bit difficult for me to eat. The broth had a strong niboshi flavor and was delicious, but as expected, it was quite salty. While drinking water in between, I found myself leaving half of the soup because it felt wasteful. When I asked my wife for her opinion, she merely said it was too salty. After finishing our meal, I noticed a sign asking us to clear our dishes. I thought a semi-self-service approach might lower the overall value. The chashu was tender and tasty, and the noodles had their own unique qualities. The broth was also delicious, so if the salt content was reduced to half of what it was now, I think it would be significantly better...
