I am an applied economist with research and teaching interests mainly in political economics and public economics.   Employing formal theoretical modeling and data-driven empirical investigation, my work has appeared in leading academic journals across the quantitative social sciences. 

I teach courses in political economics, public sector economics, and applied econometrics at the Central European University in Vienna, Austria.  I offer courses at the undergraduate, masters, and doctoral levels at CEU. I am the head of the Department of Public Policy and an elected senior faculty representative on the CEU Senate.   I am also a recurring visiting research professor at the Universite Paris-Pantheon-Assas.

I am happy to provide letters of recommendation for students who have taken at least one of my elective courses or who I've advised in research.  Please note that I will only provide letters confidentially and require two weeks' advance notice.
