Here’s the skin-ny on Jessica Simpson: The MTV Newlyweds star is scheduled to perform at the “Play Safe in the Park Concert,” benefiting the nonprofit Skin Cancer Foundation, scheduled for May 22 in the Rumsey Playfield of New York’s Central Park.
The nonprofit foundation provides education and raises public awareness of the need for sun protection and reducing the incidence of skin cancer, the Associated Press reports. Allure magazine is sponsoring the event.
As for Simpson, 23, skin is clearly on her distinctive mind, as she is still making the promotional rounds for her own line of dermatological products – all “edible” with highly erotic names.
The Simpson “Dessert” line includes 13 “deliciously kissable” products such as Belly Button Love Potion, Hot Body Topping and Whipped Body Cream with Candy Sprinkles.
In terms of price points, The New York Times reports, $35 will get you the Whipped Cream; $36, the Body Shake; and $34, the Powdered Sugar Body Shimmer, complete with “tickle me anywhere” feather applicator.
Simpson reiterated to The Times that they “are beauty products, not sex products,” though she admitted that she tested out her potions, toppings and sprinkles on hubby Nick Lachey whilst “snuggling or smooching.”
A second Simpson cosmetics line, to be called “Taste,” is planned for fall. And, since fair is fair, Lachey may also launch his own men’s line of edible body products.
