In a statement released last week, Cabcharge announced that its associated company, ComfortDelGro Cabcharge (CDC), had reached an agreement to buy the bus company which operates services from Emu Plains to Mt Victoria.
The deal will allow CDC, which already operates around 1000 buses in NSW, to expand its business.
Blue Mountains Bus Company owns three depots and operates a fleet of 101 buses and coaches.
It also runs the distinctive red trolley buses, which offer hop-on, hop-off tours of the sights of Leura and Katoomba.
A spokeswoman for the company confirmed that the sale agreement had been reached but said no settlement date had been set.
"It is expected that during the transition and after completion, it will be business as usual," she said.
She added that all employees of the Blue Mountains company will be offered jobs under the new owners.
Cabcharge did not return the Blue Mountains Gazette's calls.
