CSS User Interface

resize
outline-offset

can be resized by a user.
This property can have one of the following values:
horizontal
- user can resize the element horizontally (the width)vertical
- user can resize the element vertically (the height)both
- user can resize the element both vertically and horizontallynone
- user cannot resize the element
You can resize this div element in a vertical way!

CSS Disable Resize in Textarea
A <textarea> is often resizable by default.
Here, we have used the resize
property to disable the resizability
in <textarea>:
CSS Outline Offset
The outline-offset
property adds
a space between an outline and the edge/border of an element. The space between an
element and its outline is transparent.
The following example specifies an outline 15px outside the border edge:
This paragraph has a black border and a red outline 15px outside the border edge.
Note: Outline differs from borders! Unlike border, the outline is drawn outside the element's border, and may overlap other content. Also, the outline is NOT a part of the element's dimensions; the element's total width and height is not affected by the width of the outline.
The following example uses the
outline-offset
property to add space
between the border and the outline:
Example
div.ex1 {
margin: 20px;
border:
1px solid black;
outline: 4px solid red;
outline-offset: 15px;
}
div.ex2 {
margin: 10px;
border: 1px solid black;
outline: 5px dashed blue;
outline-offset: 5px;
}
