Efforts to recall Village President Barbara Valentine did not go to a vote in Mayville, Michigan, after the Tuscola County Election Commission rejected the proposed recall petition language.[1]
Recall supporters
Recall organizers alleged that Valentine had violated the Mayville Code of Conduct/Ethics by swearing at a meeting of the Mayville Village Council and slandering Mayville employees by saying they had been fired for embezzlement.[1]

Petition language seeking to recall Valentine was filed on June 22, 2022, July 11, 2022, and July 22, 2022. All three proposed petitions were rejected during clarity and factual hearings.[1]
