I have only edited, copied and pasted some files here and there to make this. I'm not a programmer.
This mod is a patch for the Elite Force (7.0) and First Responders (0.66) mod. You SHOULDN'T PATCH v0.67 (explanation in pre-requisites section).
I probably changed some more tiny things here and there but I really can't remember what exactly lmao.
The main menu logo is the one from Elite Force, not First Responders. My best guess is that for some reason the code that loads that logo is in a SwatEquipment file (which doesn't make sense but I haven't edited much else).
YOU CAN and PROBABLY SHOULD rename the original "SEF_FR" folder to something different if you still want to be able to run the original First Responders. I, however, do not think you should or even can rename the "SEF" folder without causing issues to boot up or play the game.
Also, customs skins were removed because I needed to replace the SwatEquipment files which controls those, though they can probably be added back easily.
One last thing which is quite nice is that I managed to get the MP5SD6 to work here. The coolest and most beautiful yet unecessary gun in EF.
You MUST have the Elite Force versin 7.0 and First Responders version 0.66 mods installed.
IF YOU WANT TO PATCH FIRST RESPONDERS 0.67 JUST KNOW THAT IT IS ALMOST COMPLETELY POINTLESS because you won't be able to use the shield and the AI.ini file will not be properly loaded due to glitches in the original .67 version of the mod. In fact, the reason I did not mod v0.67 was because of that. I tried everything and a little more but nothing was effective.
It might work with EF 7.1 but I have not tested that.
Go into your SWAT 4 root folder and drop the "ContentExpansion", "SEF" and "SEF_FR" folders there, replacing the original ones.

Maybe this is the best version of SWAT 4 I have played, very true to the original.
Really hope theres an update for this with more equipment and some better textures (maybe let us pick the vanilla uniform body texture or add something to the new one so it looks more gritty?). Gameplay is almost perfect, the AI feels very good.
I would love to see the same gasmask but without helmet and the heavy ceramic armor from SEF7, and in the hospital mission there could be more variety in the headwear and armor of the enemies.
cheers
Thanks a lot for the words!
I am not a programmer myself, I just mess around with stuff here and there. As the description says, this mod is a mix/compilation ****-around-find-out type thing. The biggest thing I tinkered with was probably the AI.
I don't really have plans to mod the game again, but who knows. I do, however, encourage other ppl to try their own stuff with the files, edit, replace, delete them, whatever lol. (That as long as the original devs from the mods I got stuff from are ok with -- always credit them).
An important thing to note is that I had to use SEF7 alongside SEF First Responders version 0.66 for all this to work.
v0.67 had AI problems (nothing I did would apply in game) and v0.68 wasn't yet released.
...I might try modding this again in the future however idunno
