Have to give me some time as well.

After about an hour, during the scene where Louisa walked over to the window, turned around and saw that Jake and his parents were gone, I had the feeling it's not really happening.
That all of Jake and his parents don't exist.

When Louisa came into Jake's nursery, I suddenly got the idea that Louisa doesn't exist. That it's Jake's delusional world that we see.

The car scene during the return trip was also special.
You saw Louisa filmed from the side and for a very small moment, not Louisa was sitting there, but the waitress from The Red Line Dining from the movie the concierge was watching.

This is a movie I will definitely watch again!

Very much enjoyed. Fairly original angle, because in the beginning you might wonder what all is real, and what the female protagonist is or is not imagining, and towards the end it seems more and more clear that it is all just the fantasy of Jake appears to be. I'm going to read the book right away, wondering if that makes things clearer

What a stimulating and exciting movie experience this was for me. Charlie Kaufman is a brilliant man, who now proves from other source materials, can make tremendously strong translation to the screen.

First off, I want to say that I'm sorry they didn't release it in theaters. It lends itself perfectly to the living room, but the intensity of this film seems a bit for the big screen.

But it is quite a small film in structure, with moments almost a theatrical play. This movie is packed with dialogue and it's about a lot of things. The film winks at literature, poetry, philosophy, science, film,... Sometimes I felt like taking a sheet of paper and writing down some names to search further.

The film also really breaks loose when they arrive at the farm. The atmosphere becomes so alienating, almost eerie. Kaufman takes us into his bizarre world again, a world that is elusive, but still pleasant to stay in. Getting your brains on it isn't always necessary, it's understanding the concept behind it that's enough.

This movie also begs to read the book once and then watch the movie again. There's so much in it. So people who complain of headaches after watching Tenet, give this one a try. He also manages to seem a lot more intelligent about the concept of 'time' than Nolan. And with a much smaller budget.

In my eyes Kaufman is a genius hero, who always manages to grab me with his weirdness.

love it!

Thick 4*
