An Accidental Studio plot
"Insert descriptive tagline that mentions handmade films, a Beatle, and possible a python or two..."
The film company HandMade Films came into existence because Beatle George Harrison heard that EMI thought the film 'Life of Brian' was too controversial and did not want to finance it. Harrison was a big fan of Monty Python and was eager to see that movie. He took out a mortgage on his house and his office in London and raised four million pounds to make the film anyway. After that, the company made films such as 'Time Bandits', 'The Long Good Friday' and 'Mona Lisa'. But there was also a disagreement between Harrison and his business partner Denis O'Brien.
