I thought there were no places near Ichikawa Station where I could enjoy craft beer, but it turns out there actually is one. Right close to the station, too. So, I decided to check it out right away. The place is called PUBLIC ARROW'S. It's located to the left after exiting the south exit of Ichikawa Station. It’s directly across from Akedoya, a well-known ramen shop in the area. They offer six types of craft beer on tap, along with Black Label. On the day I visited, they had domestic craft beers, but apparently, they also serve international beers at times. Interestingly, they have a rare hand pump, allowing you to enjoy real ale as well. Beer sizes are available in three options: pint, medium, and half pint. The base prices are JPY 1400 for a pint, JPY 1200 for a medium, and JPY 1000 for a half pint. If you go for international beers, the prices might be a bit higher, so it’s good to check the menu on the blackboard. Now, on to the food. The blackboard above the counter lists the menu. There’s a variety from light snacks to hearty meals. Personally, I highly recommend the pasta. On that day, I ordered the shirasu (whitebait) pasta with garlic oil, and the texture of the fresh pasta was incredibly delicious. I’d love to try their Bolognese as well. How nice! There are about four to five counter seats and around three high tables. While it’s not a very large space, it has a great atmosphere. I felt like I could easily drop by for a beer. Manzoku.
