Luxurious Gozen
This is a Japanese restaurant located above Yurakucho Lumine. I visited around 3 PM on a holiday. <How crowded> On weekdays during lunch, I can usually get in without a wait, so I used to treat it as a hidden gem. However, I read on Tabelog that weekends can get crowded, so I made a reservation for 3 PM just in case. I arrived 20 minutes early, and there was only one group ahead of me, so perhaps I didn't need to reserve after all. The food took about 15 minutes to be served. However, by the time we left around 4 PM, there were quite a few people waiting. It seems to depend on the time of day. <What I ordered> The luxurious set meal for JPY 2800 and Hojicha for JPY 400. ● Luxurious Set Meal Inside the box: kinpira, potato salad, grilled Saira with Saikyo miso, simmered pumpkin, Japanese omelet, tsukune, and hajikami. Silken tofu. Tempura. Sashimi. Rice. Miso soup (white miso). ● Hojicha: The pot comes with enough water for up to three cups. (There is enough water for four cups, so it may get a bit diluted, but four cups are fine.) ● Taste The white miso soup was pleasantly delicious, and I enjoyed having a bit of everything included in the set. The tempura came with two shrimp, and there was a decent amount of food overall. I typically find the cost-performance of regular set meals to be lacking, but I believe this menu offers excellent value.

I visited around 2:30 PM on a holiday. There were two groups ahead of me, but I was seated quickly. However, it was quite busy today, and it took about 20 minutes for the food to be served. I've been here several times, and it seems that after 3 PM, it gets really crowded, making it harder to get a table. I think it’s a hidden gem if you go before 3 PM. Today, I didn't have quite enough appetite for my usual luxurious Gozen, so I opted for the Saikyo-yaki Gozen for JPY 1,800, along with a la carte sashimi (tuna and bonito) for JPY 900, and hojicha for JPY 400. I appreciate that you can order a la carte. While I find the luxurious Gozen to be a great value, I feel that the other lunch menu items are not as cost-effective. The taste is delicious, including the miso soup packed with vegetables. Since it was a holiday, the staff seemed a bit overwhelmed and forgot my a la carte order. When it’s busy, there’s a two-hour limit.
