The "Ichiryu Ramen" in Omihachiman has unexpectedly changed its name to "Menya Umaka". The menu has seen some changes, but the ramen and fried chicken served here remain largely the same, I believe. The ramen menu is as follows: ○ Umaka Ramen ○ Kimchi Ramen ○ Pork Kimchi Ramen ○ Yaki Ramen ○ Champon ○ Shoyu Ramen ○ Miso Ramen ○ Spicy Miso Ramen ○ High School Ramen ○ Chashu Ramen You can choose the firmness of the noodles from 6 levels: ○ Kata (Firm) ○ Harigane (Very Firm) ○ Barikata (Extra Firm) ○ Kata (Hard) ○ Futsuu (Normal) ○ Yawarakame (Soft) Additionally, there are set menus and à la carte options. Alcohol is also available, so you can enjoy drinks alongside the à la carte. What I ordered: ○ Chashu Rice Bowl Set (JPY 1000) ○ Boneless Fried Chicken (JPY 480) I requested the noodles to be "Kata." The fine noodles were served quickly! The tonkotsu-based broth had a mild meaty flavor. It had a smooth texture, making it very drinkable. The chashu rice bowl was topped generously with diced chashu. It had a good volume and was delicious! The boneless fried chicken was freshly fried and crispy. The coating had a strong presence, providing a satisfying bite. The meat was tender, making it a perfect companion for beer.
