I had been curious about this place but never felt quite ready to go for curry until a friend raved about how delicious it was and even ordered Uber Eats from there, which made me decide to visit! I only had the image of European-style curry from when Kobayashi talked about Aubergine, which included potatoes... I arrived at 11:00, but they opened around 11:15 and let me in, which is quite rare. On weekdays, it seems like many people come alone for lunch. There are no solo seats, and the window seats are for two, but I preferred the bright atmosphere, so I chose one of those. I immediately felt comfortable, like being in a stylish café in Karuizawa. The large glass windows provide a view, but the plants outside looked a bit lonely, so I thought about planting something. I decided on the chicken curry and seasonal vegetable curry using the tablet ordering system! I wanted to add a salad and soup, so I opted for the set. Since I’m not good with spicy food, I chose the mild option (about medium spicy at home). The rice portion was 270g, which was fine for me, but it seemed a bit much for my sister, so I ended up sharing. The salad was served in a small boat-shaped dish, which made it a bit tricky to eat, but it looked great. The tomatoes were delicious. The onion soup was fantastic... I think getting the set is a great deal considering the quality of the food. ▼ Seasonal Vegetable Curry Set JPY 2,150 It came with a variety of vegetables like pumpkin, lotus root, bell pepper, young corn, eggplant, tomato, and broccoli! Taking a bite of the curry, I found the rich, thick sauce to be incredibly delicious!! It’s made by simmering for five days, so it’s no wonder it tastes so good. The rice was topped with cheese, shibazuke, and ume, which was interesting and delightful, pairing perfectly with the curry. I wonder how many spices they used... ▼ Chicken Curry Set JPY 2,050 I wonder if the sauce is the same as the seasonal vegetable curry? It tasted just as good. The chicken was chunky, and it felt like they used quality meat. Wow, it was truly delicious!!! I’m still feeling the excitement from the experience!!! I want to visit again!!! Exploring the top 100 restaurants is so much fun... I heard there’s also a branch in Omiya’s Sakuragicho!! —— Gii offers a unique taste with 10 types of curry. The curry sauce is made by simmering for five days, and the diverse menu features a variety of ingredients like meat, seafood, and vegetables.
