On the first day of the year-end holiday, I visited Tori Kagura in Yodoyabashi with my colleague. Perhaps it is fate that my 50th review is about this place... Since it was already a holiday, the atmosphere in the business district had completely changed, and I found this hidden gem in the quiet surroundings of Yodoyabashi. The ambiance was quite cozy and comfortable. As this place is mainly known for Miyazaki chicken, we were treated to various chicken dishes. We started with skewers like seseri (neck), heart, chicken meatballs, kokoro no kori (chicken cartilage), and sunazuri (gizzard). This was my first time trying kokoro no kori, and it was moderately fatty and incredibly delicious. I could easily get addicted to it... After that, we ordered various dishes, including the parent chicken's hip, chicken nanban, chicken and avocado with wasabi soy sauce, and grilled harami. The hip had a pleasantly firm texture. Chicken nanban is always a welcomed item for tartar sauce lovers. The avocado was perfectly ripe—this too may become a favorite. To finish, we enjoyed Miyazaki chicken grilled over charcoal. It had been a while since I had a chicken-centered meal like this, and I was very satisfied with the variety of cooking methods. As for drinks, we thoroughly enjoyed some local shochu, which made for a great year-end experience. I definitely want to return to this place again! It was a great meal♪
