The 2025 edition will focus on 32 countries, including Algeria, Bangladesh, Indonesia, Egypt, Nigeria, and the United States, to capture the rich cultural practices, Islamic heritage, and biographies of significant Islamic figures. Contributions will span 26 languages across platforms like Wikipedia, Wikibooks, and Wikivoyage. Through online events and training sessions, WLR 2025 aims to engage diverse communities, fostering knowledge sharing and cultural appreciation. The contest will likely run from February 25 to April 15, 2025, focusing on enhancing the representation of Ramadan traditions and Islamic heritage on Wikimedia platforms.
