Synopsis

Captain Tsubasa is the passionate story of an elementary school student whose thoughts and dreams revolve almost entirely around the love of soccer. 11-year-old Tsubasa Oozora started playing soccer at a very young age, and while it was mostly just a recreational sport for his friends, for him, it developed into something of an obsession.

In order to pursue his dream to the best of his elementary school abilities, Tsubasa moves with his mother to Nankatsu city, which is well-known for its excellent elementary school soccer teams. But although he was easily the best in his old town, Nankatsu has a lot more competition, and he will need all of his skill and talent in order to stand out from this new crowd.

He encounters not only rivals, but also new friends like the pretty girl Sanae Nakazawa and the talented goalkeeper, Genzo Wakabayashi, who shares the same passion as Tsubasa, and will prove to be a treasured friend in helping him push towards his dreams. Representing Japan in the FIFA World Cup is Tsubasa’s ultimate dream, but it will take a lot more than talent to reach it.

Background

Captain Tsubasa has inspired real footballers such as Hidetoshi Nakata, Fernando Torres and Lionel Messi in their own football dreams. A bronze statue of Tsubasa Oozora was erected in Katsushika, Tokyo in 2013, which is the neighbourhood where the original manga creator lived.

Captain Tsubasa, a reference for all football fans. Overall, this anime is excellent! At the time of viewing and reviewing, I had underestimated this anime and so I give it its fair value, which is well deserved, despite the fact that there are quite a few flaws. For example, the super long fields that we can't see the end of which the episodes are extended, overpowering strikes, super high jumps and stadiums filled when they are very young. Despite this, it didn't stop me from liking Olive and Tom in the sense that these details don't bother me and that other qualities compensate for these ...

I like 'CT' for many reasons.

It's the first anime I watched in my life and thanks to it I discovered anime

Tsubasa ia great friend of the ball and thanks to it he is always a better football player. Tsubasa always kicks the ball.

The teamwork is really important in this anime and Tsubasa can't never win without his teammates. Thanks to Tsubasa also the others teammates are better.

It's an optimistic story based on frienship and love for football

ball is a friend? Seriously, if the ball is a friend why do you kick it.
Blue Lock is the best soccer anime. If Blue Lock aired together with Tsubasa when I was little, of course I would have chosen Blue Lock over Tsubasa, since watching Blue Lock I understand that Tsubasa is an unclear anime, I regret watching it, no matter how hard I practice kicking, the ball can't penetrate the waves, destroy walls, tear the goal net or emit fire. Tsubasa anime is a public lie. I really don't recommend it. Although I still remember the episodes/storyline, because of my childhood memories, Blue Lock ...
