About Me! Hello, welcome to my bio! Nice to meet you. Anime has been a part of my life for as long as I can remember. I started watching it when I was really young, drawn in by the vibrant art styles, emotional storytelling, and unforgettable characters. Growing up, I didn’t have many people around me who shared the same interest, so anime became something personal—almost like a secret world I could escape to. Over time, and as life got busier, my passion for it faded a little. I never completely stopped watching, but the excitement and obsession I once had slowly dulled. That said, my love for anime never fully disappeared—it just went quiet for a while. Recently, I’ve found myself reconnecting with it, almost like catching up with an old friend. My main interests lie in anime and media from the late 90s to early 2000s, an era that, to me, represents a golden age of storytelling and aesthetic. Whether it’s the gritty yet emotional vibes of shows like Cowboy Bebop, the charm of Inuyasha, or the nostalgic feel of older animation styles and soundtracks, there’s something deeply comforting and inspiring about that period. That era's influence goes beyond just anime—my general tastes in media, music, and even fashion often draw from that same time. It’s more than just a phase or a genre—it’s a connection to a time that still resonates with me today. however I don't really like "mainstream" anime due to finding it overrated and boring asf. Here's a breakdown of the genres I love and why they stand out to me: All-girls / slice of life (CGDCT – Cute Girls Doing Cute Things) There’s something really comforting about watching anime that focuses on the everyday lives of a group of girls, often centered around friendship, school, hobbies, or club activities. Shows like K-On!,nichijou, or Azumanga Daioh have this calming, feel-good vibe that’s hard to beat. I love the simplicity, the humor, and the warmth these shows bring. They're like a soft blanket after a long day. Horror / psychological thriller Anime in the horror and psychological genre, like Highschool of the Dead, shiki, blood c, and senkarea really captivate me. I enjoy how they explore fear—not just through gore or violence—but through atmosphere, suspense, and twisted storylines. Good horror makes me think and stay on edge, and I love when a story surprises me or leaves me questioning what’s real. Demons / supernatural / dark fantasy I’ve always been drawn to the supernatural world of demons, especially when mixed with mythology or moral complexity. Series like A Dark Rabbit has Seven Lives, or blood lad or devil may cry bring in intense battles and emotional character arcs. There’s often a struggle between good and evil, human and monster, which adds depth and tension to the story. Plus, the designs and world-building are often amazing in this genre. Vampires / gothic fantasy Vampire-themed anime like Vampire Knight or Hellsing, have a unique blend of mystery, romance, and action. There’s a timeless, seductive quality to vampire lore, and I love how these stories play with themes of immortality, loneliness, and power. The dark, moody atmosphere is always a big plus too. Sports / competitive Sports anime is honestly one of the most unexpectedly emotional genres for me. Whether it’s slam dunk or Kuroko no Basket, I love the drive, the teamwork, and the intense rivalries. Watching characters push past their limits and grow through competition can be incredibly motivating. Even if I don’t play the sport, I get so invested in their journey. Cooking / gourmet Cooking anime, like Isekai Izakaya, mixes food with drama and passion in such a fun way. I enjoy learning about different cuisines, techniques, and the emotional connection people have with food. It’s fascinating how they turn simple recipes into epic showdowns or deeply touching moments. Action / adventure / shonen One of the reasons I love action anime is because it brings together storytelling and spectacle. The fights usually mean something—they’re not just random brawls. They often represent personal struggles, revenge, justice, survival, or a character's growth. You get to see characters evolve as they train, overcome obstacles, and push past their limits. Isekai (Overdone Ones) Isekai anime—where characters are transported or reincarnated into another world—used to feel fresh and exciting. But with so many series repeating the same setup (cheat powers, fantasy RPG worlds, bland main characters), it’s become oversaturated. Still, when done right, isekai can explore deep emotional journeys and unique world-building. Shows like Re:Zero and Mushoku Tensei stand out by giving their characters real struggles, growth, and consequences. Slice of Life (Slow-paced ones) Slice of life anime focuses on everyday experiences, relationships, and personal growth. While some people find them slow or uneventful, I think that’s the charm. They give space to breathe, reflect, and feel. Series like March Comes in Like a Lion or Barakamon beautifully capture quiet emotional moments that can hit harder than any battle. It’s a genre for those who appreciate subtlety and warmth. Ecchi / Harem (too much or overused) Ecchi and harem anime often get a bad rep for being overly sexualized or having predictable plots centered around a clueless protagonist surrounded by love interests. A lot of the time, that criticism is valid. But sometimes, these shows can surprise you with clever humor, creative direction, or emotional depth. High School DxD and the Monogatari Series are great examples of how this genre can break expectations when handled with style and purpose. What truly drew me in was how manga has the ability to capture the essence of different genres—whether it’s the dark fantasy of supernatural creatures, the thrill of action-packed sports battles, or the quiet, reflective moments of slice-of-life tales. Each genre brings something distinct to the table, and manga allows for a deep dive into these worlds, often providing a richness that transcends the surface level. Whether it's the complex, emotional depth of a psychological thriller or the fast-paced, adrenaline-fueled intensity of a battle-focused narrative, manga effortlessly blends these elements into something entirely its own. These stories often evoke feelings that linger long after I’ve turned the last page, which is something that truly makes the medium special. Manga introduced me to worlds I didn’t know I needed—universes where magic, monsters, and human struggles collide in ways that feel personal and intimate. With its wide range of themes, from lighthearted comedies to existential dramas, it’s a world that continues to expand the horizons of what stories can be. In many ways, manga became just as vital as anime—two different mediums, but both filled with infinite possibilities. While anime brings motion, voice, and sound to the stories, manga offers a quiet, contemplative experience, allowing my imagination to fill in the gaps in a way that feels deeply personal. It’s not just a medium; it’s a passion that continuously inspires me, much like the music, food, and Jdramas that have also shaped my tastes. Each of these forms of expression brings me closer to understanding the world around me and my own place in it, constantly sparking new ideas and connections. Much like my love for anime, my connection to manga is deeply tied to nostalgia. Manga reminds me of the time when I first started exploring these worlds—of when the excitement of discovering a new story was all-consuming, when every page felt like an adventure. While I still explore new series, there’s something incredibly comforting about revisiting the older titles that defined the genres I still hold dear today. These classics are more than just stories—they are part of the foundation of my own growth as a person and as a fan of this vibrant, ever-evolving medium. They hold memories, emotions, and moments that have shaped my tastes and worldview in ways I never expected. Manga has become a canvas for my imagination, a place where creativity flows freely and where I can dive into stories that are as diverse and unpredictable as my other interests. In a way, it allows me to reflect on my own experiences while simultaneously giving me the space to explore new perspectives. Whether it’s the trials of a sports team, the complex relationships between characters, or the moral dilemmas faced by protagonists, manga has a unique ability to weave a narrative that feels real, while still offering the escapism I crave. It’s a space where emotions run deep, and no two stories are ever exactly alike. Every element of the story, from the characters to the plot, pacing, and even the soundtrack (if applicable), is absolutely flawless. It exceeds all expectations, leaves a lasting impact, and is something I’ll remember for years to come. It's the gold standard of excellence. 9 - It Was Great, But Not There Yet A truly remarkable experience—one that checks all the boxes and does most things right. It’s close to perfection but just lacks that final spark to make it a true masterpiece. Maybe it’s a minor plot hiccup or a character arc that could’ve been fleshed out a little more, but overall, it’s a fantastic journey worth experiencing. 8 - Very Good, But Not Great A solid story with plenty of good moments, strong character development, and satisfying plot points. It’s above average, and while I enjoyed it, something about it didn’t fully resonate with me, keeping it from reaching its full potential. Still a great watch/read, but it didn’t leave me in awe. 7 - It Was Kind of Mid It’s okay. The experience wasn’t bad, but it wasn’t anything special either. There were some high points, but also a few moments that dragged or didn’t live up to the hype. It was just kind of… there. I didn’t love it or hate it; it just passed the time. 6 - It Was Alright Decent at best. Some elements worked well enough, but overall, it didn't leave much of an impact. Maybe it had a good idea, but it failed to execute it properly or had moments that were hard to get through. I wouldn’t recommend it unless you’re really into the genre or just need something to kill time. 5 - Nothing Good But Nothing Bad, Very Typical Average across the board. There was nothing remarkable about it—no highs, no lows, just the bare minimum. It felt very typical, following a predictable formula with no surprises. I didn’t feel moved or invested, and it wasn’t a waste of time, but it also didn’t offer anything new or exciting. 4 - Below Average This one’s a step down. It had a lot of issues—plot holes, bad pacing, lackluster character development, or just an overall feeling of wasted potential. It’s still watchable or readable, but it’s clear that something went wrong along the way. I’d say it’s only for die-hard fans of the genre or people who are just curious to see what went wrong. 3 - WTF Is This? What did I just watch/read? It feels like a mess of incoherent ideas that don’t fit together. Maybe the execution was poor, or the story was just absurd, leaving me confused or frustrated. Definitely not something I’d recommend unless you want to experience the chaos for yourself. You might have more questions than answers afterward. 2 - Bleach, Please :D Not even worth a full comment. It’s as if they tried, but failed, miserably. You’re left wondering how this even got made. If I’m being honest, I’d rather go back and rewatch something I’ve seen a hundred times over than suffer through this. There’s just so little to redeem it that it becomes laughable. 1 - Waste of Time, Absolute Trash :T A complete and utter disaster. It’s not just bad—it’s a monumental waste of time. Nothing about this works, and I regret even considering it. The story’s nonsensical, the characters are unbearable, and the entire experience feels like it was crafted just to infuriate me. I’d rather do literally anything else than endure this kind of mediocrity. Avoid at all costs. |
