hello. i'm hako. friend requests are welcome.
i like collecting shit. my main focuses are figures and manga

for some reason, out of all websites, the one i feel most comfortable oversharing about myself on is this one. perhaps it's because it's the first website i actually started visiting regularly. anyways, hello, i'm hako. i became introduced to this.. medium? with sailor moon. it was the first anime i watched while aware of the concept of anime. it holds a special place in my heart because of that. it was also the beginning of my mahou shoujo obsession (see username.) however, around that point, i had watched a couple non-anime mahou shoujo as well, for example lolirock (in which i was ridiculously obsessed with, perhaps i should give it a rewatch as i remember nothing). i've always been attached to more girly series, like shoujo and josei because they are pretty much free of fanservice- not to mention the classic shoujo manga artstyle- which i absolutely love. however, i also enjoy dabbling into more serious and horror-y series, as proved by my favorites lists. sailor moon also happened to be my first manga as well.
anyways, aside from rambling about my animanga-related taste, i'll talk about my actual self.
one of the things i'm most passionate about is music. i absolutely love listening to music- it's such a cool art that allows you to express a lot. i typically tend to enjoy more hardcore music- like metal.
somw of my favorite musical artists include: utsu-p, unlucky morpheus, hanabie, yousei teikoku (only good thing that came out of mirai nikki), yuyoyuppe, guity, puramatsu, maretu, panchiko and a lot like birds. i am trying to get out of more weeb-y music.. but japanese metal is really good. i have been getting into more western artists, though (just haven't listened to enough of their music to consider any of them to be favorites).
another interest of mine that isn't as common- lost media. i'm a big lost media nerd, and i've been interested in it for a few years- it's super interesting.
vocalsynths also are an interest of mine; favorites ars hakaine maiko, megurine luka, cul (unfortunate name :(), hiyama kiyoteru.. and uhh. acme iku. just listen to chaosmaid and you'll understand why i like her.
i'm also an artist- dually traditional and digital. i suck so i'm not sharing anything 💀

•my first anime was pokemon, though the first anime i watched while aware of the concept of anime was sailor moon, which was also my first manga.
•i don't actually like anime much anymore and have fallen out of love with it, mostly because of really bad or fanservice-y series ruining my enjoyment for this medium. i joined this website during my peak cringey weeb phase. for every good series there is, there's like 50 bad ones, unfortunately.
•i mainly watch subbed but the sub/dub debate is stupid as hell, both are fine.
•i really try not to drop things unless they're overly boring, or are genuinely atrocious
•i hate fanservice (and the losers that it panders to) with every fiber of my being

• my current username is outdated, i no longer want to be associated with it. i plan on changing it soon.
• i'm not necessarily a fan of the omori manga, it is in my favorites to reflect how much i enjoyed the game.
•my "watching" list is mostly made up anime i haven't actually started. there are plenty of series that i
genuinely want to get in to, so i use that to keep track of them.
