7.0/10 ~ Band of Brothers meets Iron Blood orphans
This is my review for the entire Series (Both Season 1 + 2): This show was good, not great, not amazing, not terrible, Just good. Which isnt necessarily a bad thing. This show had far more to offer then alot of the other trash ive been watching lately so it was a bit refreshing to get a show with a little bit of meat to it. But it was not without its faults. My largest gripe of the show was how goddamn choppy the series was, it would slow down and speed up plot and story wise
...
way to fast, and I felt like there was just so many scenes cut. Being a 23 episode series, it easily could have been a standard 25-28 show to really fill in those holes.
Pros:
- The show tackles some big topics like Racism, Imperialism, Child soldiers much akin to gundam, Eugenics, what and who are considered people, and general depression. It takes on alot with its main focus being in a Nazi-Germany like setting, but over all it did fall a little flat when resolving some of these issues within the plot
- Im a huge sucker for explorations into unown lands, late Season 1 and early season 2 did a good job of this
- Yes the Lady commander was just wifu bait but she was written aliright with some development which was enjoyable however they did her dirty by cutting her almost entirely out of season 2... she really could have used more "show dont tell" moments, but me wanting this is a good sign that I wanted more.
- The CGI was kinda off putting, but when you realize its almost entirely for the mechs it becomes pretty acceptable
--The combat was decent for what it was
- Audio was great
- English dub was good
- the ending was rewarding, and it could end there and I would be happy, or it could continue. (for season2) Where season 1 is clearly "PART 1" and needs be be paired with part 2 to really be enjoyed, but the product as a whole was "complete" in the eyes of the story they told via the anime.
Cons:
- MC boy was far to edgy, but the fact that he breaks out of it at the end was enjoyably weird to see in anime these days
--500 or w.e dead comrades is so extremely, lower that lol
- Mascot girls back story was so choppy... so is this girl like 30... or like is she actually a robot?
-- all the "clans" with powers were just plot devices that just felt shoehorned in and filled with holes.
- They just jammed way too many "feels" scenes in the show, and they would be like 15 seconds long, and you as the viewer were supposed to care... yeah alot of them fell flat.
- I really did not like the approach where the silver haired people were made to be the villains within the first ep, I think they should have gone deeper into the "behind closed door" effect and made it that they were truly evil on the inside instead of willful ignorance breeds cruelty approach, because of this you felt no pity or remorse at the end when the silvers gold bent over, it just kinda fell flat but because it was a large part of the base of the story.... I just felt like it was a giant missed opportunity to get a crying anger out of the audience watching.
--because of the last point, charecters like General Uncle just fell flat, and the best friend hating MC just felt glossed over... too many scenes theoretically missing for character interactions and growth with one another.
- The Human nations willing to work with one another blindly at the end just felt unrealistic, show us more scenes of other nations getting wiped out and the survivors realizing its work together or death
- How did Silver lady make it to emo kid at the end... the fuck?
- I did not give a shit about a single other character that wasnt Silver haired MC, Emo kid, the cat and the not dog, every other character just felt like background noise tbh
-like I sad above, the show needed at minimum 2-5 more episodes to flesh about alot of scenes, but honestly what was covered could have been 1-2 more 12ish episode seasons.
This show was like I said just good, and I grade pretty harshly where 5/10 is very average, so this was far above that, but it was no master piece and needs alot of work. I dont think if they added a banger third season it would raise my score that much unless it was like a 9/10 or higher... I just wouldnt think it would be worth it for alot of people to make it that far. 7/10 is where I will start recommending shows, but I will not preach for them. I would recommend this one to anyone that enjoys a good WW2 story, mecha or a story about fighting the odds. I think one part that really will resonate with people is that the silver haired MC, goes from essentially a naive gamer girl to realizing pretty quickly that her game actions have real life consequences, the closest comparison would be like if the Gov in real life hired your to be a drone piolet and told you that it didnt really matter if you won or lost your drones or even completed your missions because they could just make more lol, then you realize that you are actually playing god and everything you do has real world stakes lol

6.25/10 ~ Fun ride
This one was a weird one, but I enjoyed it enough to watch it all the way through. If I had to describe it, would be as such: Dr.Stone enters Deathrace 2000 in the American industrial period. My biggest gripe with the show is it was far to short and it felt like there should have been an entire mini arc at the end and it just skips a month ahead and ends... uh okay then.
Pros:
- MC is enjoyable even if they are a Mary Sue
- I really enjoyed the attempt at brining anime logic into the American Industrial age
- weird
...
to say but it had a Beginning, middle and end, So many decent shows out there with no ending
- English dub was decent
-as mothers basement would say, this was some hot trash
- I honestly did not know where the story was going which was nice that it wasn't too predictable
- the history jokes were fantastic
- Supporting cast was decent
- great attempt at recreating "Death Race" (2000) especially the 70's version but make it Anime, the time period felt right too
Cons:
- CGI cars made me want to puke
- so uh... how does everyone know English and or Japanese lol
- MC felt over the top in a very Dr. Stone way, this is not a compliment
- show couldn't make up its mind of how it wanted to depict violence and death
- needed atleast 2-3 more episodes at the end
- much of the exposition was so boring
Over all this is a bit hard to recommend, but if you love either the time period of 1800's industrial age America, Dr. Stone or Akudama Drive you will probably be at home, other wise this is an easy skip.

5/10 ~ just more of the same
As I said for my several other reviews for MHA, this is just so OKAY that its kinda painful. The writing isnt particularly good, growth and resolutions just kinda happen, but hey Stain was back for .2 seconds and that was neat.
MHA has been quite the mixed bag when I talk to people about it, where almost every single person I personally know who watches anime as watched some part of it, only a small fraction have made it too, let alone through Season 6 + all 3 movies, most dropping the show in the 2nd and 3rd
...
season. The reception of Season 4 and 5 were soo poor from the community that I feel like only the hardcore fan base is left and that is why S6 is just the highest rated season. I see so many people praising the writing.
The good:
- when the show tries to talk about discrimination, good vs evil, and the problem and thankless jobs it can can actually be pretty good. Atleast better then other shows in its genre, however it doesnt even do this all that particularly well
- Bakugo is actually a decent character with much growth that does feel quite earned through the series...
-->the only other interesting character is hand guy, but he just so rapidly changes that it feels like such poor writing and loos of opportunity.
- Fight and action Scenes for the most part are fantastic and flashy
- the use of the diffrent powers is like Jojo's light
- Stain is best boy
- Toga is cute
the bad:
- the writing for MHA is atrocious
--alot of the writing feels pretty thrown together without alot of forethought
-- I feel like there are just so many plot holes and convenient things that just happen that its annoying
- the time line just doesnt really make sense for modern society to Season 1
- All for One just doenst make sense power wise, also an extremely boring bad guy
- so much of the exposition is just so boring
- MHA has this problem where the highlights are good enough to watch the show for, but everything inbetween just constantly feels like filler all the way through S6
- most of the main cast are just terribly written characters, Deku is just a horrible unlikable MC
--most of the side cast get extremely power crept pretty quickly and its almost laughable that they still try to include them
---where its ironic because the underlying tone of the show is everyone can contribute in their own way no matter how small the contribution because everyone is unique, but so much of the actions for the B-cast just feels like filler and contradicts one of the main points of the show
I could go on and on about the short comings of the show but all and all this is just what comes to mind when I think of a 5/10 show, something just painfully average in all combine categories. Dont get me wrong, if you told me you just watched MHA for the fights, or the gooner bait and you thought it was a 9/10 I would believe you, I understand I am not the target demo and that is fine
I would not recommend anyone over the age of like 16 to watch this one, unless its like your first anime

5.5/10 ~ More of the same
MHA is just so full of the "same old, same old" type of stuff, its hard not to compare it to other anime or Shonen, but even compared to itself it feels so systematic / formulaic that its kinda painful to watch some parts of it at some points. That being said the show continues to ever so slightly be better then average because of such things as:
- Hand guys character development
- flashy fights
- phineas 's Glow up
All and all I wouldnt have blamed you for dropping MHA at this point or prior, its just so exhausting and for 99%
...
of people there are just better things to watch, for myself ive started to run out of those, or they take up too much attention where I cannot multi task and work at the same time. Honestly I should just start one piece already, but on to season 6

5.5/10 ~ meh
MHA at this point just feels like a whole lot of nothing for build up into big spectacle climax that are all pretty showy action scenes 1-2 per season. The show started off pretty meh, had some great highlights through season 1-3, Season 4 forsure seems like a step down but not really by much, maybe .5 to a whole 1 point down from the rest. Im not really sure why people either praise or hate on this show, its just fine.
Slain is still the best part of MHA and all the other villains are just dumb or feel like they
...
are from a diffrent show entirely. Tournament arcs, invading the basement of a villain base are all so getting old, it almost feels like these are prerequisites for being a shonen, its so tiresome.
This is the part where I found most people started to drop the show when i was airing, but from what I can tell I think the mediocrity started to finally creep in. lol
The best part of MHA is between the moral choices people have to make, and the emotional developments the characters of varying ages make, neither of which is done particularly well. The third best thing is the action scenes and really people just cling onto this aspect and ride out the mediocrity.
On to the next season in my quest to Finnish everything while I work

5.5/10 ~ better then S2, worse then S1
MHA was a show with a really strong start in S1 and then kinda fell off imo. S2 was pretty disappointing but S3 did step it up a bit. Which is funny because originally I dropped the show when it was airing around the time Slain got captured and all I recall hearing from m y peers about the show is about how bad Season 3 was and that they wish they dropped the show all together, in 2025 I dont know a single person that is still watching this seasonally because everyone dropped the show between S3-5.
...
After watching all of Season 1-3, + the first 2 movies. I now understand what must have happened. MHA does something kinda well for a Shonen specifically which is mix the emotional aspects of the show, intertwined with the fights and level ups. But the emotional aspects of the show sit in this weird category where I feel like its too emotional for the general Shonen crowd (IE: the target demo that is Teen/Pre-teen boys) But is simultaneously not mature enough for the adult crowd that are probably now into seinen or w.e, not to mention too violent for kids, and tackling touch topics like morality for children. I recall many people saying S3 was so "boring", after S2 that just jumped into a stupid tournament arch and featured the best boy Slain. Where S3 dives much deeper into character growth and the emotional aspect of the show with far far less fighting.
But at the end of the day, its still a Shonen and im forsure in the "too old for this shit" category. I mostly enjoy the semi political aspects and the moral questions the show really does a poor job of asking. As I said in my previous 2 reviews if I didnt need extremely mid show to watch while working I would never have made it past the mid point of Season 1.
That being said I think this show is pretty decent as a 1st anime, and probably great for kids between 10-16's

7.25/10 ~ Man im so hype for this
From what I can tell this is going to be the first few episodes of the TV series so dont fret if you did not get the opportunity to see it in theaters like I did. GQuX is an alternative timeline of WHAT IF Char got the RX78 instead of Amaro during the One Year War. You do not technically need to know anything about Gundam as a whole and you can go into this one pretty blind, however for the best viewer experience I would probably recommend watching:
- 0079 (the original show or 3 piece movie)
- Gundam
...
the Origin (back story on Char)
- Char's Counter Attack (to know what the outcome of the original show to have a comparison of why this is so hype)
And for you Gundam Nerds out there they took the overall Plot elements from G-Fighter and mashed them together with the Universal time line.
Gundam has become very stagnant over the years with only 2 real stand outs in my personal opinion, Thunderbolt; a pretty forgotten about series that is unfinished that really took a fresh way to look at Gundam. AND Which from mercury, that really just took all the Gundam tropes and reversed them.... which honestly was pretty poorly executed. Pretty much every other Gundam feels like Gundam, is loaded with nearly all the same story beats, at this point Cliche's and almost everything feels pretty over done.
GQuX really feels diffrent, it feels like something TRIGGER would have made, very wild and over the top. It doesnt even really look like a Gundam show and I honestly love all the changes to the show. I forsee this being my favorite Gundam Show to date which currently is Origins, I really just hope they do not botch this.
I also am really curious if they are going to do what DBS did with the DBZ-battle of gods movie which was the same events but spread out into a season vs 1 movie... or if it will be a 1-1 copy and paste from the anime, hard to tell honestly. I may update my score when I rewatch this as well.

5.5/10 ~ Its just the 1st movie again...
MHA movies are kinda weird, they are technically cannon but have no real baring on the plot, but rather fit comfortably into the main plot much like filler typically does, Unlike most Dragon Ball and Naruto movies which are just non-cannon fan fic. MHA unlike most Shonen kinda gets the emotional aspect of the charecters better then most Shonen, but its usually not mature enough to really mean much and puts it in this weird in-between of too emotional for teen-age boys but not mature enough for adults. This and the last movie dont really have much to
...
offer for plot, emotion or really any meaningful character development as both feel like you could skip them and they have no real baring to the plot as a whole.
The one part that this and the last movie does get right is the build up to the final fight. In the last movie the Team up of Deku and All Might was pretty peak, and the final fight of this movie was up until this point not close the best fight scene of the entire show of Season 1-4 + Movies 1&2.
So if you made to about ep 130 of the anime, and the 1st movie then you are just going to watch this one regardless of what I say. I would say this movie was a fine 1 shot and you could probably enjoy this one with minimal knowledge of MHA as a whole, You could also just watch this after Season 3 and get most of the gist of this if you dont mind some power/level up spoilers that are to come for Season 4/5.
All and all I would say this was just fine, it had some neat fights that could just have been watched on a highlight real, the story and one-shot charecters are all so unmendable so much so I wouldnt blame you for getting scenes from this confused with the 1st movie. I would say this one is a comfortable pass if you are just speed running your way through MHA.

4/10 ~ Just a recap ep
This is essentially a recap of season 1—nothing more. It effectively summarizes the events of the first season in just one episode while also setting the stage for season 2 and building excitement. There’s not much to say since it’s mainly a long summary.
For those eager to jump straight into season 2 without revisiting season 1, this episode provides a brief overview of what’s going on, though I wouldn’t necessarily recommend skipping the first season. It serves more as a "memory refresher" to get you hyped for what’s coming next.
I think if you wanted to get back into MHA and
...
start from S2 this would be an acceptable starting place, I personally just prefer youtube summaries myself but you do you
