You are already watching GT? Have you seen the Z movies before that? I think DBZ Movie 12 plays an indirect role and someone from DBZ Movie 5 makes a cameo which may confuse you if you see him :O

DBZ Movie 1 is a must watch if you want to see all the filler. You will thank me later if you haven't already.

Considering you are at Episode 43, you might want to consider watching a few of the movies. There are 4 just Dragon Ball movies usually retelling the beginning of Dragon Ball with a different setting or giving it a modern look.
And you can check out the first 2 Dragon Ball Z movies. The classic DBZ movies have usually less than an hour runtime so they are a quick watch.
