Daesung, a member of K-pop icon BIGBANG, is set to return to the music scene with a new solo release over a year after his last single.
The singer will unveil his first mini-album, "D's WAVE," on April 8, his agency D-LABEL, under the entertainment label RND Company, said Tuesday.
Daesung previewed the release Monday with a promotional image on his official social media channels. According to his label, the teaser offers "a glimpse into the album's concept," featuring him in an all-black outfit, surrounded by multiple stand microphones.
The BIGBANG singer launched his solo career in 2008 with the trot dance track "Look at Me, Gwisun," followed by another trot release, "It's a Big Hit!," in 2009. His most recent release, "Falling Slowly," dropped in March 2024, showcasing a more emotive vocal style.
Beyond his music career, Daesung has expanded his presence as a content creator. His YouTube channel (@ZIP_DS) gained significant traction, surpassing 1.13 million subscribers in under a year. He was recently recognized at the 2025 Korea First Brand Awards, winning in the Male Celebrity YouTuber category.
Daesung also recently reaffirmed his close ties with his BIGBANG bandmates, now performing as a trio. The group made headlines with their performance at the 2024 MAMA Awards, where the three members showcased their enduring friendship and timeless stage presence.
He also made a guest appearance at Taeyang's encore concert last month, further fueling excitement by hinting at his own solo concert scheduled for April.
