In this report, the authors describe research conducted in supporting the development of a driver... more In this report, the authors describe research conducted in supporting the development of a driver cognitive model. The research first involved reviewing driver models in order to identify the possibility of adding functionalities to the current model based on existing models. The next phase of the research involved collecting and gathering data in support of developing the model. Data was collected from an experiment carried out on a driving simulator. The experiment involved investigating the effect of repeated exposure to a non-driving device on driving performance related to vehicle control and hazard detection. A method for analyzing lane changing behavior is also discussed.
