The Super Bowl is consistently TV's most-watched event, and for good reason. From the gridiron drama, to the celebs cheering on the sidelines, to all the star-studded ads, the big game always delivers on its promise of an evening of uninterrupted entertainment. Led by star players Travis Kelce (tight end) and Patrick Mahomes (quarterback), the Chiefs return for the NFL's most competitive conflagration after winning in 2024 against the San Francisco 49ers, and in 2023 against the Philadelphia Eagles. The Eagles will have their big opportunity to steal back the spotlight, as they face off again against the Chiefs this Sunday, Feb. 9, at the Caesars Superdome in New Orleans. Everyone performing at the 2025 Super Bowl: Kendrick Lamar, SZA, Jon Batiste, Ledisi, and more The Super Bowl is at this point as much about the halftime show as it is the game itself. This year, Kendrick Lamar will make his way from the top of the charts to the halftime stage at the Caesars Superdome, of course having taken a quick detour to pick up five Grammys along the way. Lamar is coming off one of the greatest years in his career so far, having scored a tremendous victory over Drake in their era-defining rap battle, taken that beef's kill shot, "Not Like Us," to the top of the charts for weeks, and released his sixth studio album, the critically-acclaimed GNX. Apple Music, the official sponsor of the Super Bowl halftime show, revealed last month that Grammy-winning superstar and frequent Lamar collaborator SZA will join the rapper on stage. Doubtless more stars will make cameos on game day, but the pre-game show is packed with Louisiana royalty as well, including Jon Batiste, who will perform the national anthem, Lauren Daigle and Trombone Shorty, who will perform "America the Beautiful," and Ledisi, who will perform "Lift Every Voice and Sing." He'll be joined by "Drew Barrymore" singer SZA, with whom he recently collaborated on the songs "Gloria," "Luther," and "30 for 30." This isn't the rapper's first halftime performance. Lamar, who hails from Compton, Calif., was brought out as a surprise guest during Snoop Dogg and Dr. Dre's 2022 West Coast-themed Super Bowl spectacle in Inglewood, Calif. Lamar has not commented on whether a group of Republican Louisiana lawmakers' letter demanding a "family-friendly" halftime show has affected his plan for the performance. The politicians sent a letter to the Greater New Orleans Sports Foundation last month on behalf of "hardworking taxpayers with children who have serious concerns about the fact that past Super Bowl halftime performances have been less than family-friendly," citing previous provocative performances from the likes of Rihanna and Jennifer Lopez.
