Minnesota Divert Mining Tax, Amendment 3 (1956)

The Minnesota Divert Mining Tax Amendment, also known as Amendment 3, was on the November 6, 1956 ballot in Minnesota as a legislatively referred constitutional amendment, where it was approved. The measure authorized the legislature to divert 50 percent of the proceeds from the occupation mining tax earmarked for education from permanent trust funds to current educational needs.[1]
