Minnesota Railroad Loans, Amendment 1 (April 1858)

The Minnesota Railroad Loans Amendment, also known as Amendment 1, was on the April 15, 1858 ballot in Minnesota as a legislatively referred constitutional amendment, where it was approved. The measure allowed the state to make loans to railroad companies in an aggregate amount of up to $5 million.[1]
