Madeleine M. Landrieu
Madeleine M. Landrieu was a judge on the Fourth Circuit Court of Appeal, 1st District, Division F in Orleans Parish, Louisiana. She was elected to this position on October 2, 2010 for a term that was set to end on December 31, 2020.[1]
Landrieu retired before the end of her term on June 30, 2017, in order to take a position as Dean of the Loyola College of Law.[2]
Landrieu was previously a judge of the 41st District Court - Civil District Court, Division E, where she took office in 2001.[3]
Education
Landrieu received her law degree from Loyola University Law School in 1987.[3]
Career
Before joining the Court of Appeal, Landrieu served as a judge on the 41st District Court - Civil District Court Division E, Section 7. She was elected to that position on April 7, 2001, and was sworn in the following July 2.[4][3]
Prior to her judicial career, Landrieu worked as a private practice lawyer. She began her career, following law school, as part of the law firm of Gainsburgh, Benjamin, David, Meunier & Warshauer. She became a partner of that firm in 1992 and worked in that capacity until her judicial election in 2001.[3]
