Maria Elizabeth (Maribeth) Raffinan is a judge on the Superior Court of the District of Columbia. She was appointed by President Obama on July 28, 2010.[1] On September 29, 2010, the Senate confirmed Raffinan to the court, without a recorded vote.[2][3]

Education

Raffinan received her bachelor's degree in political science and Philosophy from Boston College and her J.D. from the Catholic University of America Columbus School of Law.[1]

Raffinan served in the Office of the Federal Public Defender for the District of Columbia. In 1999, she began working as a supervising attorney in the Trial Division of the Public Defender Service for that district.[1]
