The Montana Authorize Concealed Carry of Firearms Amendment was not on the ballot in Montana as a legislatively referred constitutional amendment on November 5, 2024.[1]
The amendment would have authorized the concealed carry of firearms by removing a sentence from the state constitution that says "nothing herein contained shall be held to permit the carrying of concealed weapons."[1]

To put a legislatively referred constitutional amendment before voters, a two-thirds (66.67%) vote of all members of the Montana State Legislature is required.
This amendment was introduced as House Bill 551 on February 14, 2023. The House passed the amendment on April 4, 2023, by a vote of 65-33. The measure did not receive the required 100 votes to be placed on the ballot.[1]
