A Lilley Township Road Levy Renewal measure was on the August 7, 2012 ballot in the township of Lilley, which is in Newaygo County.
This measure seeks to renew the current road levy which is set at a rate of $1 per $1,000 of assessed value for a further five years in order to continue to pay for road operational costs in the township.[1]
Text of measure
The question on the ballot:
Shall the previously voted increase in the 15-mill tax limitation imposed under Article IX, Section 6 of the Michigan Constitution upon taxable real and personal property within Lilley Township be renewed at 1.0 mills ($1.00 per $1,000 of taxable value) for the period of 2012 through 2016, inclusive, for the purpose of funding the operation of the Lilley Township Roads; and shall the Township levy such renewal in millage for such purposes during this period?[2] |
