The Louisiana Authority to Appoint Temporary Judges Amendment, also known as Amendment 1, was on the ballot in Louisiana on November 21, 1987, as a legislatively referred constitutional amendment. It was approved. It proposed that the Louisiana supreme court should have sole authority to appoint temporary judges for municipal, traffic, parish, city and family courts.[1]
