Jennifer Dorow is a judge of the Waukesha County Circuit Court in Wisconsin.

Dorow ran for election for judge of the Wisconsin Supreme Court. She lost in the primary on February 21, 2023.

Governor Scott Walker (R) appointed Dorow to the circuit court in December 2011.[1] Dorow assumed office in 2012 and was elected to a full six-year term later that year.[2][3][4] Dorow was re-elected in 2018 to a term expiring in 2024.[5][6]

The Wisconsin Supreme Court appointed Dorow as chief judge of the Third Judicial Administrative District in 2017 and reappointed her to the position in 2019 and 2021.[7][8][9]


Biography

Dorow received a bachelor's degree in broadcast communication from Marquette University in 1992 and a J.D. from Regent University School of Law in 1996.[10][11] Dorow previously worked as a Waukesha County assistant district attorney and as a private practice attorney at Huppertz & Dorow, S.C.[7][12]

Dorow ran unopposed and was re-elected to a six-year term as judge for Waukesha County Circuit Court Branch 2 with 99.0% of the vote.[5]

Darrell Brooks homicide trial

Dorow presided over the 18-day jury trial of Darrell Brooks in October 2022. Brooks was on trial for driving an SUV into the Waukesha, Wisconsin, Christmas parade on November 21, 2021, killing six people and injuring at least 61.[13][14] Brooks was charged with six counts of first-degree intentional homicide, 61 counts of first-degree recklessly endangering safety, six counts of hit-and-run involving death, and other charges.[15]

On November 16, 2022, Dorow sentenced Brooks to six consecutive life sentences without parole, as well as "17½ years for each of the 61 counts of first-degree recklessly endangering safety, or a total of 762 years of initial confinement and 305 years of extended supervision; and 25 years each for the six hit-and-run counts running concurrent to the reckless endangerment charges."[14]
