Governance
The KCPS are in tumultuous times and it is imperative that the Board have leadership that understands the complex legal issues and entanglements that stand between our students graduating from an accredited school district and how to properly manage its resources. As a practicing attorney, I work on corporate and legal issues on a daily basis. I can use these skills to further develop functioning and successful Kansas City schools. |
Education Prevents Incarceration
Today prisons are being built based on third grade reading scores. We must be proactive in closing this pipeline for KCPS students. My experience working in both the Public Defender and Prosecutors offices has provided me the hindsight of what happens to the children we allow to fall by the wayside. We must focus on providing quality education for all students. |
Preparation
S.T.E.M. (Science Technology Engineering and Math): We must prepare our students for jobs of the future. As a Physics major, and now Intellectual Property attorney, I can speak to the value of having a STEM background. |
