Julie Pazina found her home in Las Vegas in 2002 and never looked back, joining Edlen Electrical Exhibition Services. She is the company’s national director of sales, overseeing sales in the Las Vegas market, as well as regional and national sales efforts. Based in Las Vegas, Edlen is a family-owned and operated company that has grown into the nation’s largest independent temporary utility contractor for trade shows, conventions and special events.

She served on the Board of the Las Vegas Hospitality Association for six years, including her tenure as President in 2013. She is also a member of the Junior League of Las Vegas, is an active community volunteer and is a member of the International Association of Exhibitions and Events, which named her its 2011 Young Professional of the Year and the 2019 Woman of Achievement. Julie also currently serves on the International Association of Venue Managers Convention Center and Industry Affairs Committees. She was a member of the Nevada Conservation League Board and was appointed by the Governor to the Commission on Tourism and the Commission’s COVID-19 Recovery Committee.

Julie and her husband Joel live in Henderson, Nevada with their golden retrievers Molly and Henry.

  • Creating Jobs, Diversifying the Economy
  • Ensuring Accessible and Affordable Health Care
  • World Class Education for Nevada's Students
We must do more to diversify Nevada’s economy and I am committed to making Nevada a leader in the renewable energy market, which is why I support investing in industries like wind, solar and geothermal. I also believe that it is vital to Nevada's economy that the tourism industry continues to thrive and grow. Nevada’s students should have access to world-class education with excellent teachers and more individualized attention. The best education starts with having great teachers in our classrooms. I am committed to raising teacher pay in order for Nevada to attract and retain the best teachers and will also fight to cap class sizes to make sure that teachers can give our students the individualized attention they need to be successful. During my time as the President of the Las Vegas Hospitality Association, I led an effort to connect high school and college students with job training, career education and internship opportunities and will work to expand programs like this to all of our children so that they are prepared to compete for good paying jobs when they graduate. Funding Silver State Opportunity Grants and Millennium Scholarships is critical to ensure more sources of funding to help Nevada’s children achieve their dreams no matter their background or zip code. Having access to health care is an essential right and I will work to protect, defend and expand this right. I will protect funding for Planned Parenthood and ensure access to critical women’s health services.
In my opinion, an elected official should be a good listener and communicator, empathetic, honest and value integrity. We must listen to and earn the trust of our neighbors in order to effectively represent our community.
The best legacy is to leave legislation in place that provides for a better life for Nevadans, whether professionally or personally. I was fortunate to help pass legislation in 2019 alongside Senator Woodhouse to create a rare disease advisory council. This council and legislation will help with the early detection and treatments for childhood cancer.
My first childhood memory came when I was five or six years old and remember a large group of cloaked and hooded people marching down the street towards our family car where I grew up, asking for donations. This was my introduction to the KKK and my parents fear has stayed with me over the years. That incident sparked the need to be active and find voices in the community I trust. At the age of 11, I started knocking doors for local candidates and making calls for candidates at age 15. It is why I am proud to run for office.
Home Sweet by Russell Dickerson - It reminds me of my home and how much I love Nevada and my family and friends.
It is ideal that the governor and legislature listen to the voices of hard working Nevadans and pass legislation that creates good paying job, accessible and affordable health care and a world class education for students.
One of Nevada's greatest challenges will be water shortage and I look forward to being part of the solution working with conservation groups and community stakeholders on behalf of protecting Nevada's natural resources.
I believe we must listen to all voices in the community and work together to reach policy solutions.

Scorecards

See also: State legislative scorecards and State legislative scorecards in Nevada

A scorecard evaluates a legislator’s voting record. Its purpose is to inform voters about the legislator’s political positions. Because scorecards have varying purposes and methodologies, each report should be considered on its own merits. For example, an advocacy group’s scorecard may assess a legislator’s voting record on one issue while a state newspaper’s scorecard may evaluate the voting record in its entirety.

Ballotpedia is in the process of developing an encyclopedic list of published scorecards. Some states have a limited number of available scorecards or scorecards produced only by select groups. It is Ballotpedia’s goal to incorporate all available scorecards regardless of ideology or number.
