Judy Jesse
Judy Jesse was a candidate for an at-large seat on the West Des Moines Community Schools School Board in Iowa. The seat was up for general election on September 8, 2015. She was defeated by David Brown, Melinda Dunnwald, Jill Johnson and Liz Cox.[1][2]
Biography
Jesse is a retired educator. She previously worked as a teacher, administrator and university clinical supervisor. She volunteers with organizations raising money for heart health and leukemia research. She also volunteers with the local food bank. She has served on various committees for the school board. Jesse obtained her bachelor's degree in elementary education from the University of Northern Iowa. She also obtained a master's degree in educational administration from the same school. Later, she earned a doctorate degree from Drake University.[3]

Four of the seven seats on the West Des Moines Community Schools School Board were up for election on September 8, 2015. The available seats represented the district at-large.
Incumbents Milton Cole and Andi Lipman were defeated in the election. Incumbent David Brown retained his seat. Candidates Liz Cox, Melinda Dunnwald and Jill Johnson won the seats of Cole and Lipman as well as the open seat left by incumbent Kevin Carroll who did not run for re-election. Candidates Michele Dahlen and Judy Jesse were also defeated in the election.[4][5][6]

Funding
Jesse reported no contributions or expenditures to the Iowa Ethics and Campaign Disclosure Board in the election.[7] Any candidate spending, receiving or incurring debt in the amount of $1,000 or less was not required to file the disclosure form for campaign finances.[8]
