Johnny Nugent (b. July 18, 1939) is a former Republican member of the Indiana State Senate, representing District 43 from 1978 to 2014. He served on the Dearborn County Board of Commissioners from 1966 to 1974.

Biography

Nugent's professional experience includes owning Nugent Tractor Sales. He served in the United States Army in 1957.[1]

Nugent won re-election to the 43rd District Seat in the Indiana State Senate with no opposition. He received 32,334 votes.

Nugent defeated primary challenger Lindsay Patterson by a margin of 11,737 to 4,104 in the May 4 Republican primary election.[2]

On November 7, 2006, Republican Johnny Nugent won re-election to the Indiana State Senate District 43 receiving 26,266 votes, ahead of Democrat Lane Siekman receiving 11,997 votes.[3]
