Pinkerton was born in Tempe, Arizona in 1957.[4]

- 1999-2003: Substitute teacher, later hired full time as an In-School Suspension teacher at Silverado High School

- 2012-Present: Board of Trustees, Victor Valley College

Cook and Ramirez defeated Tim Donnelly (R), Roger LaPlante (D), and John Pinkerton (D) in the top-two primary on June 7, 2016. The general election took place on November 8, 2016.[5][6][7]
