Josh Brannon
Josh Brannon was a 2016 Democratic candidate who sought election to the U.S. House to represent the 5th Congressional District of North Carolina.[1]
Brannon was a 2014 Democratic candidate who sought election to the U.S. House to represent the 5th Congressional District of North Carolina.[2] No candidate secured more than 50 percent of the vote in the May 6, 2014, primary election.[3] Brannon defeated Gardenia Henley in the resulting runoff primary on July 15, 2014.[4] He was later defeated by incumbent Virginia Foxx (R) in the general election on November 4, 2014.[5]

Heading into the election, Ballotpedia rated this race as safely Republican. Incumbent Virginia Foxx (R) defeated Josh Brannon (D) in the general election. Foxx defeated Pattie Curran in the Republican primary, while Brannon defeated Jim Roberts and Charlie Wallin for the Democratic nomination. The primary election took place on June 7, 2016. The general election took place on November 8, 2016.[6]

Brannon ran in the 2014 election for the U.S. House to represent North Carolina's 5th District. No candidate secured more than 50 percent of the vote in the May 6, 2014, primary election. A runoff primary election was held between the top two candidates[3] Brannon defeated Gardenia Henley in the runoff primary on July 15, 2014. He was later defeated by incumbent Virginia Foxx (R) in the general election.[5] The general election took place on November 4, 2014.
