Magda Hernández is the superintendent of the Irving Independent School District. Hernández was appointed superintendent on December 18, 2018. Hernández's previous career experience includes working as the assistant superintendent of human resources of the Waxahachie Independent School District, a teacher, and a human resources staffing and recruiting coordinator.[1]

Past superintendents

  • Jose L. Parra was the superintendent of the Irving Independent School District from 2014 to 2018.[2][3] Parra's previous career experience included working as the superintendent of the Lockhart Independent School District.[4]

The Irving ISD board of trustees consists of seven members who are elected to three-year terms. All board members are elected by district.[5]
