The Iowa Fuel Tax Allocation Amendment, also known as Amendment 1, was on the ballot in Iowa on November 3, 1942, as a legislatively referred constitutional amendment. It was approved. The measure required that all fees for vehicle registration, licenses and motor vehicle fuel taxes be used exclusively for the construction, maintenance and supervision of the public highway system.[1][2][3]
